Welcome to a unique experience

Grancia dei Celestini, named after the (Benedictine) Celestine monks and followers of Celestino V, the only Pope in history to have ever stepped down and give up his papal duties to live as a hermit, was founded in 1292 and restored in 1992 by Interior Designer, Antonio Donatelli, after having laid idle and empty for more than five decades.

It is in this monastery that the first residence in the Grancia dei Celestini network was founded, Santa Lucia, which offers 4 wonderfully and ornately decorated rooms which will surely make your stay in Sulmona a memorable one.

Luxury vacation living in a 13th Century monastery

Grancia dei Celestini has become synonimous with quality and hospitality; therefore it is under this flagship that all resedencies in the donatelli design network, currently under construction and planned, will be carried in the future.

If you wish to be kept informed regarding openings of our new resedencies, please contact us in order to be added to our e-mailing list (all personal data will be treated confidentially).
